Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TVG Streptococcus suis vaccine is an experimental herpesvirus-based viral-vector vaccine being developed by The Vaccine Group (TVG) for the prevention of *Streptococcus suis* infection in pigs. The vaccine platform utilizes a herpesvirus vector to deliver and express specific *Streptococcus suis* antigens, which triggers a protective immune response in the host. In preclinical studies, the vaccine has demonstrated cross-serotype protection in piglets and has shown efficacy superior to currently available commercial vaccines. *Streptococcus suis* is a significant swine pathogen that causes various conditions including meningitis, septicemia, and arthritis, and also poses a zoonotic risk to humans.
