Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TVI-Lung-1 is an autologous adoptive T-cell therapy being developed by TVAX Biomedical for the treatment of lung cancer. The therapy is based on the TVAX Immunotherapy platform, which employs a unique two-step approach: first, the patient is vaccinated with their own irradiated tumor cells and an adjuvant (GM-CSF) to prime the immune system; second, the resulting tumor-specific T cells are harvested from the patient's blood, expanded and activated ex vivo, and then re-infused into the patient. These activated killer T cells are designed to recognize and eliminate cancer cells throughout the body, including those that may have metastasized. TVI-Lung-1 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials.
