Overview

TW001 is an oral formulation of edaravone, a small molecule free radical scavenger developed by Treeway B.V. for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It functions by donating electrons to free radical products, thereby reducing oxidative and nitrosative stress, which are key contributors to neurodegeneration. The drug is currently being evaluated in the Phase 2a ASURE trial for safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease. While edaravone is already approved for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) under the trade name Radicava, TW001 represents a specific development effort for the Alzheimer's population.
