TWB-103 is a recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor (rh-aFGF, also known as FGF1) being developed by Transwell Biotech. It is designed to promote wound healing by stimulating the proliferation and migration of various cell types involved in tissue repair, including fibroblasts, vascular endothelial cells, and keratinocytes. By activating fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs), TWB-103 facilitates the formation of granulation tissue and accelerates re-epithelialization. It is currently under clinical investigation for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and split-thickness skin graft donor site wounds.
