Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Twist antagonist antibodies are proprietary monoclonal antibody candidates developed by Twist Bioscience in collaboration with Astellas Pharma. These biologics are designed to function as antagonists against an undisclosed checkpoint inhibitor pathway within the tumor microenvironment (TME). The primary therapeutic goal is to reduce TME-mediated immunosuppression, thereby enabling a more effective and targeted immune attack on cancer cells. These candidates were discovered using Twist Bioscience's proprietary DNA synthesis platform and antibody libraries. Under the terms of a 2022 research collaboration, Twist and Astellas are jointly optimizing these leads, with Astellas holding an exclusive option to license the resulting candidates for clinical development.
