Twotops

Twotops is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) medication developed and marketed by IlDong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hypertension. It combines two antihypertensive agents with distinct but complementary mechanisms of action: telmisartan and amlodipine besylate. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively binds to the AT1 receptor, inhibiting the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II. Amlodipine besylate is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB) that inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to peripheral vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. This combination is typically used when monotherapy is insufficient to achieve blood pressure goals. It is primarily available in the South Korean market.
