Overview

TXR-1002 is an investigational **small molecule** being developed by Aria Pharmaceuticals for **idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis**. It was discovered using the company's Symphony artificial intelligence-based drug discovery platform and is described as a novel antifibrotic candidate that inhibits **myofibroblast proliferation**, **collagen production**, **transforming growth factor-beta signaling**, fibrosis, and inflammation. In preclinical bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis models in mice and rats, TXR-1002 reportedly reduced lung fibrosis and collagen staining with activity comparable to or slightly better than approved IPF therapies such as nintedanib and pirfenidone. The program is reported to be in preclinical or IND-enabling development, with provisional US patent filings and no disclosed clinical-stage human data.
