TY-0536 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 (NOD-, LRR- and pyrin domain-containing protein 3) inflammasome, currently under development by Tenyu Pharmaceutical. The NLRP3 inflammasome is a multi-protein complex that plays a critical role in the innate immune system by triggering the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18), in response to various danger signals. By inhibiting NLRP3 activation, TY-0536 aims to mitigate chronic inflammation associated with a wide range of conditions, such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), gout, and neurodegenerative diseases. The compound is formulated as an oral tablet and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in humans.
