Overview

TY-1210 is a small molecule inhibitor of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 2 (CDK2) currently in preclinical development by Zhejiang Tongyuan Kang Medicine (TYK Medicines). CDK2 plays a critical role in the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 to S phase and during DNA replication. Overexpression or dysregulation of CDK2, often associated with Cyclin E1 (CCNE1) amplification, is a known driver in several solid tumors, including breast and ovarian cancers. By selectively inhibiting CDK2, TY-1210 aims to arrest the cell cycle and induce apoptosis in tumor cells, potentially overcoming resistance to other CDK inhibitors like CDK4/6 inhibitors. The drug is being investigated for its potential to treat various solid tumors where CDK2 activity is a primary driver of malignancy.
