Tylofas Forte

**Tylofas Forte** is a marketed veterinary fixed-dose antimicrobial product manufactured by Zakfas Pharmaceuticals. Each mL contains tylosin tartrate 50 mg, colistin sulfate 10 mg, and dimetridazole 100 mg. Tylosin is a macrolide antibacterial that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through the 50S ribosomal subunit; colistin is a polymyxin antibacterial that disrupts the outer membrane of susceptible Gram-negative bacteria through lipopolysaccharide binding; and dimetridazole is a nitroimidazole antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent that is reduced in anaerobic organisms to reactive metabolites that damage DNA.
