Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tymbion is a fixed-dose otic solution containing lidocaine hydrochloride and epinephrine for iontophoretic induction of local anesthesia in the tympanic membrane before tympanostomy tube placement. It is administered only with the Tula Iontophoresis System; lidocaine produces local anesthetic blockade of voltage-gated sodium channels, while epinephrine provides adrenergic vasoconstrictor activity. The product was developed with the Tula tympanostomy platform by Tusker Medical and is marketed within Smith+Nephew's Tula system.
