Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TYME-18 is an investigational, cancer metabolism-based therapy developed by Tyme Technologies for local treatment of solid tumors via intra-tumoral injection. It consists of a proprietary surfactant system combined with a natural sulfonic acid and is designed to increase cancer cell membrane permeability and compromise lipid barriers and membrane proteins within the acidic tumor microenvironment, thereby producing selective cytotoxicity in tumor tissue while sparing surrounding normal tissue.[1][7][10][19] Preclinical xenograft studies in colorectal cancer models reportedly showed rapid and near-complete regression of established tumors after local administration, and the company has positioned TYME-18 as a platform approach for solid tumors, although it has remained in preclinical development without progression to human trials.[1][3][8][10][12][14][19]
