Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TYME-19 is an investigational oral synthetic bile acid derivative being developed by Tyme Technologies as a potential treatment for COVID-19. Preclinical data indicate broad-spectrum antiviral activity, with TYME-19 reducing SARS-CoV-2 viral replication in human lung epithelial cell models by interfering with the virus’s ability to hijack host cellular machinery.[1][12][3] The compound is related to a bile acid moiety also used in Tyme’s anticancer program TYME-18 and is positioned as a host-directed antiviral designed to be administered orally in early-stage or mild to moderate COVID-19 infections.[1][9][6]
