Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Typhax is an investigational vaccine candidate for the prevention of typhoid fever, a serious disease caused by the bacterium *Salmonella enterica* serotype Typhi. Developed using Protein Capsular Matrix Vaccine (PCMV) technology, Typhax consists of Vi polysaccharide antigen formulated to induce an immune response against the Vi capsular polysaccharide of S. Typhi. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that Typhax elicits strong anti-Vi IgG antibody responses in animal models, particularly when adjuvanted with Adju-Phos. The vaccine is intended for intramuscular administration and aims to provide protection against typhoid fever, which remains a significant health concern in regions lacking adequate water and sewage systems[5].
