Typhocon

Typhocon is a typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) developed and manufactured by Incepta Vaccine Limited. It is composed of the Vi capsular polysaccharide of *Salmonella typhi* covalently conjugated to a diphtheria toxoid (DT) carrier protein. This conjugation transforms the T-cell independent Vi polysaccharide antigen into a T-cell dependent antigen, which significantly enhances immunogenicity, particularly in infants and young children, and induces long-term immunological memory. Typhocon is designed to prevent typhoid fever in individuals ranging from 6 months to 60 years of age. In clinical studies, it has been evaluated for non-inferiority in safety and immunogenicity compared to the WHO-prequalified reference vaccine Typbar-TCV.
