Typhoid Vi conjugate vaccine is a biologic vaccine designed for the prevention of typhoid fever caused by *Salmonella enterica* serovar Typhi. It consists of the purified Vi capsular polysaccharide antigen from *S. Typhi* chemically conjugated to a carrier protein such as tetanus toxoid (Vi-TT), diphtheria toxoid (Vi-DT), or recombinant *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* exoprotein A (Vi-rEPA). The conjugation enhances immunogenicity by inducing a T-cell dependent immune response and robust anti-Vi antibody production even in young children. This results in higher efficacy and longer-lasting immunity compared to plain polysaccharide vaccines. The primary indication is active immunization against typhoid fever in children as young as 6 months and adults up to 45 years or older depending on the product[3][4][5][6][8]. Multiple companies have developed different versions using various carrier proteins.
