Tyrosine S

Tyrosine S is an allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) product consisting of L-tyrosine-adsorbed allergen extracts. Developed by Allergy Therapeutics, it is designed to induce immune tolerance in patients suffering from allergic rhinitis. In a clinical study conducted by Gachon University Gil Medical Center, Tyrosine S was evaluated as an intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT), where the extracts were administered via ultrasound-guided injections directly into the inguinal lymph nodes. This specific protocol targeted allergens from house dust mites (*Dermatophagoides farinae* and *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus*), as well as cat and dog dander. The L-tyrosine adsorption acts as an adjuvant and provides a sustained-release effect, which is intended to improve the safety profile and immunological efficiency of the treatment. A Phase 1 trial (NCT02665754) investigated the safety and efficacy of this intralymphatic approach, although results indicated limited therapeutic efficacy and noted potential for systemic reactions and injection-site pain.
