Overview

U-46619 is a **stable synthetic analog of prostaglandin H2 (PGH2)** and acts as a **potent, selective thromboxane A2 (TP) receptor agonist**[1][4][5][7][9]. It is widely used as a research tool to stimulate TP receptor-mediated responses, mimicking many properties of endogenous thromboxane A2, such as platelet shape change, platelet aggregation, and vascular smooth muscle contraction. U-46619 activates downstream ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK signaling[1][3][4]. It does not stimulate other prostaglandin receptors at biologically relevant concentrations. U-46619 is not approved for clinical use and is intended for research purposes only.
