Drug intelligence / Profile preview
U-Factor liquid is a biological drug candidate consisting of a highly purified stem cell culture supernatant derived from human deciduous tooth pulp stem cells (SHED). Developed by the Japanese biotech startup U-Factor Life Science Co., Ltd., the product is a conditioned medium obtained through proprietary cultivation technology that contains a high concentration of cytokines, growth factors, and other bioactive molecules secreted by stem cells. Unlike traditional cell therapies, U-Factor liquid is a cell-free biologic that acts through pleiotropic regenerative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective pathways. It is currently being investigated in Japan under the Specified Clinical Research framework for the treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), with additional research targeting Parkinson's disease, dry eye, glaucoma, and various autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease.
