U29 is an autologous CD30-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Shanghai Unicar-Therapy Bio-medicine Technology. It is specifically engineered to target the CD30 antigen (TNFRSF8), a cell surface marker highly expressed in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). The treatment process involves collecting a patient's T cells, genetically modifying them to express the anti-CD30 CAR, and re-infusing them following lymphodepleting chemotherapy. The CAR-T cells then recognize and bind to CD30-positive tumor cells, triggering T-cell activation, proliferation, and targeted cytotoxicity. U29 is currently under clinical investigation for the treatment of relapsed or refractory CD30-positive lymphomas.
