Overview

U69 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting C-C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9), which is frequently expressed on malignant T-cells. To enhance therapeutic efficacy, these CAR-T cells are further engineered to express C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4), a receptor that facilitates the trafficking and homing of T-cells to the bone marrow and other lymphoid tissues where T-cell malignancies often reside. Developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, U69 is intended for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). The dual-functional design aims to improve both the direct targeting of tumor cells and the infiltration of the therapy into protective anatomical niches.
