Overview
UanQiHuoLi Tang (YQ1) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulation developed by Taipei Veterans General Hospital for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), specifically in patients with EGFR/ALK wild-type (EGFR-negative) tumors. Administered orally, it is typically used as an adjunctive therapy alongside cisplatin-based chemotherapy. The formulation is believed to exert antineoplastic and immunostimulating effects by modulating the immune response, inducing apoptosis in tumor cells, and inhibiting cancer cell proliferation. It may also target cancer stem cells and influence the gut microbiota to improve clinical outcomes. Taipei Veterans General Hospital has sponsored Phase 2 clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy and safety in patients with advanced lung cancer.
