Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UB-926 is an afucosylated monoclonal antibody targeting the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2), currently in preclinical development by United BioPharma (UBP) for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. By utilizing afucosylation technology, the antibody is engineered to have a significantly higher affinity for the FcγRIIIa receptor on effector cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells. This modification enhances antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), potentially providing superior anti-tumor activity compared to standard HER2-targeted therapies, particularly in patients with low HER2 expression or those who have developed resistance to existing treatments.
