UB-TT170 is a proprietary small molecule bispecific “adapter” developed by Umoja Biopharma. It consists of folate conjugated to fluorescein and is designed to target folate receptors (FR) that are overexpressed on the surface of certain tumor cells, particularly in osteosarcoma. When administered, UB-TT170 binds selectively to tumor cells expressing FR and labels their cell surface with fluorescein—a protein not normally present in human tissues. This labeling marks the tumor for recognition and destruction by autologous CAR T cells engineered to express an anti-fluorescein chimeric antigen receptor (CAR). The approach enables personalized immunotherapy for patients with relapsed or refractory osteosarcoma and offers a safety mechanism since administration of sodium fluorescein can reverse CAR T cell reactivity if needed. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials as part of the ENLIGHTen-01 study (NCT05312411), where it is used in combination with autologous anti-FL(FITC-E2) CAR T cells[1][3][4][7].
