Overview

UB-VV400 is an investigational in vivo CAR-T cell therapy designed to generate CD22-targeted CAR-T cells directly within the patient’s body using a surface-engineered lentiviral vector. Developed by Umoja Biopharma, with clinical collaboration from IASO Biotherapeutics, UB-VV400 aims to treat B-cell malignancies such as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and other non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Unlike traditional ex vivo CAR-T therapies that require extraction and modification of T cells outside the body, UB-VV400 uses Umoja’s proprietary VivoVec platform to deliver the genetic payload for a CD22-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) into T cells in situ. This approach has the potential to simplify manufacturing, reduce costs, and broaden access by eliminating complex cell processing steps. The therapy may also be studied for autoimmune diseases in future trials[6][7][10].
