Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UBP-alloNK-Her2 is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cell therapy being developed by UWELL Biopharma for the treatment of HER2-expressing solid tumors. The therapy involves engineering natural killer cells from a healthy donor (allogeneic) to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). This modification enables the NK cells to selectively recognize and eliminate tumor cells that overexpress HER2. Currently in the preclinical stage (CAR engineering), UBP-alloNK-Her2 aims to provide an off-the-shelf cellular immunotherapy option, potentially overcoming the limitations of autologous CAR-T therapies such as manufacturing time and cost.
