UBT37034 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by United Bio-Technology (Zhuhai Hengqin), a subsidiary of The United Laboratories. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of overweight and obesity. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, UBT37034 mimics the action of the endogenous incretin hormone GLP-1, which plays a critical role in glucose homeostasis and appetite regulation. By activating the GLP-1 receptor, the drug stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, slows gastric emptying, and enhances satiety, leading to significant weight reduction and improved metabolic parameters.
