Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UBT37034 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by United Bio-Technology (Zhuhai Hengqin), a subsidiary of The United Laboratories. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of overweight and obesity. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, UBT37034 mimics the action of the endogenous incretin hormone GLP-1, which plays a critical role in glucose homeostasis and appetite regulation. By activating the GLP-1 receptor, the drug stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, slows gastric emptying, and enhances satiety, leading to significant weight reduction and improved metabolic parameters. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is being evaluated for its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and overweight or obese subjects.
