Overview

UC-MSC-derived nanovesicles are extracellular vesicles (EVs) or exosomes harvested from umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells. These nanovesicles serve as a cell-free therapeutic platform, carrying a complex cargo of bioactive proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids (such as microRNAs) that modulate the wound microenvironment. They are being investigated for their ability to promote the healing of chronic wounds, specifically diabetic foot ulcers, by stimulating angiogenesis, reducing local inflammation, and enhancing the proliferation and migration of fibroblasts and keratinocytes. In clinical evaluation, these nanovesicles are typically applied topically to the ulcer site to accelerate re-epithelialization and tissue regeneration.
