Overview

UC-MSC infusion is an allogeneic cell therapy developed by Asia Stem Cell Regenerative Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (also known as Asia Cell Therapeutics). The product consists of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) formulated for intravenous administration. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of decompensated hepatitis B liver cirrhosis, particularly in patients who have failed conservative treatments and are not immediate candidates for liver transplantation. The therapeutic mechanism leverages the innate properties of mesenchymal stem cells, including immunomodulation, anti-fibrotic activity, and the promotion of hepatocyte regeneration and tissue repair. Clinical evaluation focuses on safety and the improvement of liver function indices such as serum albumin levels, bilirubin, and MELD scores.
