Overview

UC101 is an investigational allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy derived from umbilical cord blood. It is designed to target CD19, a protein expressed on the surface of B cells. As a universal CAR-T product, it aims to minimize immunogenicity and improve efficacy while reducing adverse events compared to traditional autologous CAR-T therapies. The drug is being developed for the treatment of neoplasms (such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia), immune system diseases (notably systemic lupus erythematosus), and hemic and lymphatic diseases. UC101 represents the world’s first umbilical cord blood-derived allogeneic CAR-T product and has received IND approval from the US FDA as of January 2025[2].
