UC503 is an allogeneic, umbilical cord blood-derived CAR-T cell therapy engineered to dual-target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19. Developed by Xi'an No.3 Hospital, this "off-the-shelf" (UCAR-T) therapeutic candidate is designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, including patients with extramedullary disease. By utilizing cord blood as the starting material for T-cell production, UC503 aims to circumvent the manufacturing delays and cell quality issues often associated with autologous CAR-T therapies. The dual-targeting approach is intended to enhance anti-tumor efficacy and mitigate the risk of disease relapse due to antigen escape. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary clinical activity.
