Overview

UC7-13D5 is a **monoclonal antibody** derived from Armenian hamster that specifically binds to the **murine gamma/delta T cell receptor (TCR γ/δ)**. It is primarily utilized in experimental immunology to identify, deplete, or functionally block mouse γδ T cells both in vitro and in vivo. The γδ TCR is expressed by a subset of T cells in the thymus, peripheral lymphoid tissues, and various epithelial surfaces. UC7-13D5 can activate TCR γ/δ-bearing cells in vitro and has been reported to cause depletion or functional blocking of these cells in vivo. The mechanism involves binding to the TCR γ/δ, leading to downregulation or internalization of the receptor, thus making the γδ T cells "invisible" to some detection methods but not fully depleted. The antibody is widely used as a reagent in research to study the roles of γδ T cells in immunity, infection, autoimmunity, and cancer models[1][2][4][5][7][9][10][12][16].
