CellResearch Corporation's UCL Stem Cell Therapy is an allogeneic cell-based regenerative treatment utilizing stem cells derived from the umbilical cord lining (UCLSCs). These cells are characterized by the expression of CD227 and a unique pattern of P63 expression. The therapy is specifically developed for corneal resurfacing and repair, targeting conditions such as corneal scarring or fogging that lead to vision loss. Developed in collaboration with the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and the Vietnam National Eye Institute, the treatment involves transplanting these stem cells, often on an amniotic membrane carrier, to regenerate damaged corneal tissue. This approach aims to provide a regenerative alternative to traditional corneal transplants by restoring the ocular surface's integrity and clarity.
