Overview

UCL70802 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by UTC Therapeutics for the treatment of malignancies expressing the CD70 antigen. The therapy is engineered using a lentiviral vector and the proprietary LACO-Stim® platform, which is designed to enhance the expansion, persistence, and anti-tumor activity of the engineered T cells within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. UCL70802 typically utilizes a structure-optimized CAR domain, often derived from the CD27 ligand, to specifically recognize CD70, a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. CD70 is frequently overexpressed in various hematologic malignancies—such as B-cell lymphomas and multiple myeloma—as well as solid tumors, including renal cell carcinoma and other urologic neoplasms. Upon binding to CD70 on the surface of tumor cells, UCL70802 triggers T-cell activation and targeted immunologic cytotoxicity, leading to tumor cell lysis. It is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for refractory solid tumors and advanced urologic neoplasms.
