Overview

UCLH801 is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy engineered to target Cadherin-17 (CDH17), a calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecule. CDH17 is highly expressed in various gastrointestinal malignancies, including colorectal, gastric, and pancreatic cancers, while displaying limited expression in normal tissues, making it a promising target for selective immunotherapy. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes CDH17, enabling the T cells to identify and eliminate tumor cells upon re-infusion. UCLH801 is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation (NCT06937567) to determine its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy across a range of CDH17-positive advanced solid tumors.
