Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UDI-001 is an allogeneic cell therapy product composed of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs). Developed by Rohto Pharmaceutical, the product is manufactured using a proprietary automated culture system to ensure consistency and scalability. UDI-001 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of pediatric cerebral palsy, specifically in patients with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). The therapeutic rationale involves the ability of UC-MSCs to migrate to sites of brain injury, where they may promote neuroprotection, reduce neuroinflammation, and stimulate endogenous repair mechanisms through the secretion of various cytokines and growth factors.
