uFab-800F is a fluorescently labeled antibody fragment designed for fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) of solid tumors. It is derived from MNPR-101, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), a protein frequently overexpressed in various aggressive cancers. The compound consists of a Fab fragment (uFab) of MNPR-101 conjugated to the near-infrared fluorescent dye IRDye 800CW. By binding to uPAR with nanomolar affinity, uFab-800F allows for the real-time visualization of tumor margins and micrometastases during surgical procedures, potentially improving resection accuracy. It has demonstrated high tumor-to-background ratios in preclinical subcutaneous tumor models.
