Overview

uFab2-800F is a fluorescent imaging tracer designed for real-time intraoperative visualization of solid tumors during fluorescence-guided surgery. It consists of an F(ab')2 antibody fragment derived from the humanized monoclonal antibody MNPR-101, which specifically targets the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). This fragment is conjugated to the near-infrared fluorescent dye IRDye 800CW. uPAR is frequently overexpressed in various aggressive solid tumors and is associated with tumor invasion and metastasis, making it an ideal target for surgical navigation. By binding to uPAR with nanomolar affinity, uFab2-800F enables high-contrast imaging with tumor-to-background ratios exceeding 2 within 24 hours of administration, assisting surgeons in identifying tumor margins and detecting micrometastases.
