Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ugeletin (优格列汀) is a novel, long-acting oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor developed in China for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is characterized by an ultra-long elimination half-life and high DPP-4 inhibition rate (>80% at 168 hours post-dose), enabling once-weekly dosing. Clinical studies have shown that ugeletin significantly reduces HbA1c and fasting blood glucose levels compared to placebo, with a favorable safety profile and minimal renal excretion. This makes it particularly suitable for patients with diabetic nephropathy, as no dose adjustment is required in those with renal impairment[1][5]. Ugeletin was the first domestically developed once-weekly DPP-4 inhibitor in China.
