Ugimer is a proprietary peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-based antisense oligonucleotide platform developed by UGISense. The technology is designed to address "undruggable" targets in oncology by modulating target RNA sequences. Unlike traditional antisense oligonucleotides that use a sugar-phosphate backbone, Ugimers utilize a pseudopeptide backbone, which confers high stability against nucleases and proteases, as well as high binding affinity to complementary DNA or RNA sequences. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that Ugimer treatment is effective across multiple cancer cell lines and in tumor xenograft mouse models. The specific molecular targets for the lead candidates in the pipeline have not been publicly disclosed.
