Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UGX01 is an investigational adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector-based gene therapy being developed by Suzhou Xingming Youjian Biotechnology (also known as U-Genex) for the treatment of ophthalmic and retinal degenerative diseases. Positioned as a potential best-in-class (BIC) candidate, the therapy utilizes an AAV vector to deliver therapeutic genetic material directly to retinal cells to address unmet clinical needs in vision loss. It is currently in the preclinical research stage, part of a pipeline focused on conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
