Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UGX02 is an investigational adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector-based gene therapy developed by Suzhou Xingming Youjian Biotechnology (U-Genex). It is designed for the treatment of retinal dystrophy and other degenerative retinal diseases, such as retinitis pigmentosa. The program is positioned as a potential best-in-class (BIC) therapy and is currently undergoing IND-enabling studies and investigator-initiated trials (IIT). UGX02 aims to address significant unmet medical needs in ophthalmology by utilizing AAV-mediated delivery to target the underlying causes of retinal degeneration and preserve or restore visual function.
