UI-103 is an off-the-shelf, in vivo chimeric antigen receptor-macrophage (CAR-M) therapy being developed by United Immunity. It utilizes the company's proprietary Myeloid Targeting Platform™, specifically a PEG-free, pullulan-coated lipid nanoparticle (P-LNP) delivery system, to selectively deliver chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) mRNA to disease-associated myeloid cells (such as tumor-associated macrophages and dendritic cells) via the DC-SIGN receptor. This in vivo engineering approach is designed to generate CAR-expressing macrophages directly within the patient's body, avoiding the high manufacturing costs and complexity of ex vivo cell therapies. UI-103 is being developed for the treatment of solid tumors and autoimmune diseases (including B-cell depletion), with preclinical development underway and IND filing planned.
