Ukrain

Ukrain (NSC-631570) is a semi-synthetic anticancer drug developed by Nowicky Pharma. It is a conjugate of the alkaloid chelidonine, derived from the *Chelidonium majus* (greater celandine) plant, and thiophosphoric acid triaziridide. The drug is designed to selectively accumulate in and destroy cancer cells by exploiting their higher negative charge compared to healthy cells. Its reported mechanisms of action include the induction of apoptosis, inhibition of tubulin polymerization, and immunomodulatory effects such as the regeneration of the immune system and encapsulation of tumors. While it has received orphan drug designation for pancreatic cancer in the United States and Australia and is approved for use in several countries including Ukraine, Mexico, and the UAE, it lacks FDA approval in the US and EMA approval in the EU.
