Txinno Bioscience's ULK1 TPD is a preclinical-stage small molecule designed to selectively induce the degradation of Unc-51 Like Autophagy Activating Kinase 1 (ULK1). ULK1 is a key serine/threonine kinase that initiates the autophagy pathway, a cellular process often hijacked by cancer cells to survive metabolic stress and treatment-induced damage. Unlike traditional inhibitors that only block kinase activity, this targeted protein degrader (TPD) utilizes the cell's ubiquitin-proteasome system to eliminate the ULK1 protein entirely, potentially offering more robust inhibition of autophagy-mediated resistance in various cancers. The program is currently in the preclinical candidate nomination phase and is being developed in collaboration with several South Korean research institutes and pharmaceutical partners.
