Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ULKOX OLE is a CE-marked Class IIb medical device formulated as an amorphous hydrogel containing *Olea europaea* leaf extract (OELE), also known as EHO-85. Developed by Noventure S.L. following its acquisition from Quesper R&D and Orpea Ibérica, the product is indicated for the treatment of various skin ulcers, including pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers, as well as anal fissures. Its mechanism of action is multifactorial, involving the formation of a protective physical barrier, maintenance of a moist wound environment, regulation of the wound microenvironment pH, and antioxidant activity through the scavenging of reactive oxygen species. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in promoting wound healing and resolving symptoms such as bleeding in patients with anal fissures.
