Overview

Ulmus americana pollen extract is a non-standardized allergenic extract used for both allergy testing and allergen immunotherapy (hyposensitization therapy). [2] Developed and marketed by companies such as ALK-Abello, Inc. and Greer Laboratories, Inc., it is indicated for patients with immediate hypersensitivity allergies to American elm pollen. The product is a biological solution administered through intradermal, percutaneous, or subcutaneous routes. [7] While often used as a standalone treatment, it can also be a component in multi-allergen mixes like 'Eastern Tree Pollen Mix'. The ALK-Abello product with NDC 0268-1171, first marketed in 1965, has been discontinued.
