Overview

Ulmus pumila pollen is a non-standardized allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Siberian or Chinese elm tree. It is a biologic product used for both the diagnosis and treatment of Type I hypersensitivity (allergies) to elm pollen. For diagnosis, it is administered via percutaneous (prick) or intradermal skin tests to identify sensitization. For treatment, it is used in allergen immunotherapy, administered via subcutaneous injections, to desensitize the immune system to the pollen allergens. This process aims to reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and other related allergic conditions upon environmental exposure. The product is intended for use by physicians experienced in allergy care.
