Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ultradent Ultra Seal XT Plus is a light-cured, radiopaque, fluoride-releasing composite dental sealant designed for the prophylactic sealing of pits and fissures in teeth. It is a hydrophobic material with a 58% filled resin composition, which provides superior strength, wear resistance, and low polymerization shrinkage compared to many competitors. The thixotropic nature of the resin allows it to flow easily into deep pits and fissures during application but prevents running after placement due to shear thinning properties. Once cured by light exposure, it forms a durable barrier that helps prevent caries by sealing out bacteria and food particles. The product also releases fluoride for additional caries prevention. It is available in multiple shades (Opaque White, Clear, A1, A2) and is BPA-free[1][2][5][6]. Its primary indication is as a pit and fissure sealant for cavity prevention; it may also be used as an initial layer in composite restorations or microrestorative procedures.
