Overview
Ultrix is an inactivated split-virion influenza vaccine developed and manufactured by FORT LLC, a Russian biopharmaceutical company (part of the Marathon Group and Rostec), in collaboration with the Saint Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera (SPBNIIVS). The vaccine is produced using embryonated chicken eggs and contains purified surface antigens, hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, from influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and influenza B strains. It is available in trivalent (Ultrix) and quadrivalent (Ultrix Quadri) formulations. Ultrix is indicated for the active immunization against seasonal influenza in children, adults, the elderly, and pregnant women. It is a core component of the Russian National Immunization Program and has been evaluated in clinical trials for safety, immunogenicity, and its potential to reduce cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome and chronic heart failure.
